The Region Free BD-HP70U combines top-tier audio and video performance with the ability to play Blu Rays and DVDs from any region thanks to the inclusion of our exclusive WorldClad region free chipset. In addition to the Ethernet port for RSS feeds, BonusView / BD-Live content and Netflix on-demand movies, the BD-HP70U is wireless ready with a second USB port making the BD-HP70U model wireless LAN ready. The player is also custom install-ready, with an included RS-232C port for management by external control systems. A reinforced anti-vibration cabinet design with a center-loading BD drive reduces vibration that can lead to errors in laser tracking. The rigid chassis frame construction, combined with a dual-shield metal top cover, reduces the amount of vibration to the Blu-ray drive, enabling a stable picture and improved operation and a grounded AC power cord for stable power which is essential for proper operation of audio system to prevent a ground loop conditions which can create noise.

HDMI Up-scaling - The BD-HP70U is backwards compatible and standard definition DVDs can look better when played on the BD-HP70U. The BD-HP70U optimizes standard DVDs to 1080p. When displayed on a 1080p capable HDTV through the HDMI connection, the BD-HP70U can deliver higher picture and sound quality.
Wi-Fi Network Connection - The built in Wi-Fi port allows connection to a wireless router to provide access to BD-Live bonus content as well as Netflix and Vudu streaming, while helping to eliminate cable clutter.
AQUOS LINK Function - provides integrated and seamless operation among Sharp audio/video products with one remote control – why use two remotes when you can use one? The AQUOS LINK function allows control of both your AQUOS LCD TV and your AQUOS Blu-ray Disc player. Connect your AQUOS LCD TV to the Blu-ray Disc player via an HDMI connection for seamless interoperability between your AQUOS LCD TV and the BD-HP70U. AQUOS LINK also features the ability to control on-screen with other manufacturers remotes.
Divx HD / JPEG / MP3 File Playback - View both still and video high definition digital images sourced from CD-RW/R, USB drives or from a network in a slideshow format and play back Divx HD files and MP3 audio files.
BD-Live - Provides access to a wide variety of real-time content via a network connection, such as movie scene extras, previews, games, chat and more. The Bonus View function provides access to picture-in-picture special features allowing simultaneous viewing of movie scenes and added bonus features (on compatible disc).
AQUOS PURE MODE - Provides seamless optimization of Blu-ray Disc content. When the Sharp BD-HP70U is connected to an AQUOS TV through an HDMI cable, the AQUOS TV will automatically switch to "dot by dot" mode to deliver full 1080p video content. The BD-HP70U/AQUOS TV combination provides the most optimized Blu-ray resolution and best possible picture.
