The DV-400V-K Region Free DVD Player is Pioneer's newest model and replaces the Pioneer DV-490V which was a extremely popular model and was well recieved by our customers. The new model adds a USB input to allow you to plug in a device to view audio and video files. It also adds 1080p output with HDMI while the DV-490 only had 1080i. Other upgrades include compatibility with a great amount of video and audio formats including mpg4, Dual Layer dvd-r/+r, along with many other recorded video files. It plays pretty much everything you can imagine. Furthermore it has an 18MB Pal to NTSC video converter.

We purchased this DVD player for our library at Berry College. Teachers check our the DVD player for classes to show DVDs from varying countries. We were very interested to see how this DVD player would work given how often it would be used and knowing that DVD region codes were different for different countries. We needed a player with no complications. Well after more than a year of a lot of use the player is still working well with no complaints.

This has been a good solid DVD player with no problems experienced through nearly a year of use in our language lab at Macalester College. We purchaed it because our professors bring in DVDs from all over the world for the language programs. We have had no complaints and the hardware conversion technology has been easy to use. It is just plug and play with no menu set up necessary. Students in language lab stations use the Pioneer DVD daily so it has seen much use and with good results.

We purchased 4 of these code free DVD players for our Presentation Services Dept. of the Douglass Library at Rutgers. They have performed flawlessly, the hardware conversion doing a great job. They are just plug and play. These are used on a daily basis by faculty. We rent them out as well and they are used for tough tasks like recording tapes onto DVD. The main feature we needed was the international DVD playback and we wanted a sturdy player with excellent hardware chipset technology. This (World Clad) conversion has done the trick well as we have had no problems in almost a year of owning them.

I have to thank Jeff so much for informing me about this player. It works like greased lightning! Everything I have played mostly Region 2 DVDs from England have just played beautifully on this player. The World Clad conversion is just plug and play. I'm on a fixed income so this was a big purchase for me, but I just wanted to play these foreign discs and i love it. I ordered it on the 8th and it was delivered 3 days later.

I purchased the Pioneer DV 393-S Region Free DVD player to replace another region free DVD player I used in the past. The plug 'n play features were very attractive to me and the product works really well. I have used it primarily to view DVDs from Region 2, or the UK, as well as of course Region 1 DVDs. I would definitely recommend this product to someone else.

We had several foreign DVDs that we wanted to play from Germany. We’ve been very happy with the Pioneer DV 393S region free DVD player. It’s a good product bc it’s small in size and was very easy to install. Setting up the region free DVD player was a simple as setting up a Region 1 DVD player.
There are a lot of people out here in Silicon Valley that are looking for a DVD player like this- one that can play all region DVDs. I found your product because there was a write up about multi-code DVD players and the World Clad ICOS 725 technology. Yours was one of the Web sites mentioned.

I purchased the Pioneer Elite DV46A region free DVD player about a month ago. It's working really well. So far, I’ve played Region 1, Region 2 (Danish, English) and Region 4 (Australia, New Zealand) DVDs on it and they look great.
I absolutely would recommend the Elite's region free DVD player and its World Clad ICOS 725 chipset. If anyone has an interest in a DVD player that plays all regions, especially movies that are not available in the US, this is the product for you.

I was looking for region free DVD players on the internet and your name came up. I actually called back to the customer service department to tell them that their service was great. The sales person answered all of my questions and we received the player quickly.
