High-Definition Upconversion
The Samsung DVD-HD950 upconverts standard DVD signal to HD-compatible 480p, 720p, 768p, or 1080i using the digital HDMI interface.

Video D/A Converter
This player uses a 54MHz/10-bit video digital-to-analog converter. This high-bit, high sampling D/A converter helps to reduce digital artifacts to give you a better picture.

Progressive Scan Video
Progressive-scan video has less flicker and fewer motion artifacts than the traditional interlaced-scanning method, resulting in a superior picture. To take advantage of this feature, you must have a television with component video inputs that supports the progressive scanning mode. The component outputs on this unit can be set to pass either progressive or interlaced video.

JPEG Picture Viewer
This unit will play JPEG files recorded onto CD-R discs using the ISO 9660 and Joliet formats. All JPEG files on a disc can be played back in a slide show. The slide show has an adjustable interval of 6, 12, or 18 seconds. You can zoom in on any image (2x or 4x) and rotate an image clockwise in 90� steps. Each disc can have a maximum of 3000 files and 300 folders.

Picture Zoom
The Zoom function allows magnification (2x or 4x) of selected screen areas, without distortion, even as the movie is playing. You can move the zoomed image around the screen. Full aspect ratio control modes are also available.

This player features a 192kHz/24-bit audio digital-to-analog converter, ensuring the best possible sound quality from DVD's, CD audio and high-resolution SACD and DVD-Audio formats.

MP3/WMA Playback
This unit will play MP3/WMA files recorded onto CD-R discs using the ISO 9660 and Joliet formats. MP3 files with a compression rate of 128 kbps (minimum) and WMA files with a compression rate of 64 kbps (minimum) are supported. This unit can play up to a maximum of 3000 files and 300 folders.

Bass Management
To tailor the 5.1-channel outputs to the bass handling capabilities and configuration of your speaker system, the front, center, and rear speakers can be set to Large, Small, or Off. The subwoofer can be turned On or Off.
